This works a lot better! Enemies drop health orbs more often, and I think coin for upgrades is also easier to get by?
But in the end it's still a frustrating experience where you mostly dance around trying not to get cornered, only to get cornered anyway and die without a chance. When most enemies elicit a "oh no, not one of those again" reaction, that's a problem.
